Arrived on a Sunday, so much of the town was closed. However, seeking a tad of adventure versus the usual just sightseeing and minor shopping, we booked a combo kayak and quad excursion. The proprietors of these excursions are Brits who are simply delightful. They picked us up at the port and took us to their homes for pre & post excursions. The kayak is a slow easy beginner pace on a lazy river;
although we saw some wildlife, it was the end of the season which meant not as much as usual. In between the kayaking and quads, we had time for the lunch we had been advised to bring with us from the ship and which we ate at one of their homes. On the quads you get a chance to see the countryside from a different prospective which was just delightful in addition to the fun of driving your own quad. Personally I loved the quads;
if you are concerned about safety, do not worry – the tour guides do everything possible to make you feel comfortable.
